This year, I didn’t read as much as I would have liked but I enjoyed the ones I was able to read and below are a few which I really, really adored to pieces. Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares is really cute. I squeed when I saw it in the bookstore this month because I had no idea that Rachel & David were going to write a third novel together (The first two: Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist and Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List) so it was a very, very welcome surprise. Also, I was way, way into different series of books this year! Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games and The Millennium Trilogy as well as The Wolves of Mercy Falls (yes, I will read Linger soon) and if all else fails, pick up a Jodi Picoult novel, lots of drama there!
Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan / Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger / Percy Jackson and Olympians series by Rick Riordan (includes The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan’s Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, The Last Olympian)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan / Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult / Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
The Millenium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson (includes The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest)
The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins (includes The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay)
2010 was a good year for movies (maybe except for the Christmas season - not as much variety as the past two years - and I saw Tron: Legacy, it was okay-ish.) but overall, there have been some amazing films to come out like Harry Potter (they made the right decision to cut it into two parts, imo), The Social Network and Inception, which is my favorite movie of the year. I also got a chance to watch Let The Right One In. It’s just such a stunning visual masterpiece and the story is brilliant. I’m hoping I can see the American remake soon.

Cappie/Casey Cartwright (Greek) I just love them so much from the pilot. Greek did an interesting thing with them - at the start they were already broken up and as the chapters progress, you get a glimpse of why as well as the lingering feelings they still have for each other. They got together (yay!) but it went downhill during the last chapter, hopefully they make sure this end right starting January 3rd (when Greek retunrs, yay!)
Eleven/Amy Pond (Doctor Who) IDK, I still ship it even after what happened during the last few episodes of series 5 but I’m also open to an OT3 (hi Rory!). There’s just something so magical about them. Amy’s known the doctor since she was a kid and one of the scenes during the last episode, damn, it was amazingly brilliant in so many ways.
Hoyt Fortenberry/Jessica Hamby (True Blood) They will forever be my True Blood OTP. Season 3 was kind of a roller coaster for them. Hoyt tried to get over Jessica and Jessica was trying to be normal but their ending was aww at the house. I am excited to see what Season 4 will look like for them. I’m guessing that creepy doll was an ominous sign though.
Jeff Winger/Annie Edison (Community) I really, really like them together. I can’t explain it so much but I think they have this natural chemistry. The Debate episode was really funny and cute and they were super adorable in it.
John Mitchell/Annie Sawyer (Being Human) Four words: This. needs. to. happen. I love the three of them together but with George/Nina being so awesome together, I’d like to think Mitchell and Annie can create sort of their own little bubble as well.
Oliver Queen/Chloe Sullivan (Smallville) This happened, for real. Eat that canon. I’m still skeptical at how they’re going to continue with this because of the comics and everything before the show but I guess Smallville doesn’t follow DC canon that much anyway. Seriously, Chloe and Oliver are awesome. They two amazing BAMFs and they know it. I think what makes me really, really like them (my biggest ship this year, it’s an obsession, sadly) is how they treat each other like equals and how there’s no need for secrets between the two of them. Hopefully, the writers will spin this in the right direction when the show returns next year - this should not end as an epic!love!tragedy! I’m just saying.
Isn’t she just so gorgeous? I love her big eyes and how they contrast with her brown hair. She’s just adorable as Annie on Community but can definitely play different characters.
I first saw him in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. He was cute and charming and very fitting for the role and next thing you know it, he’s the next big thing - being the new Peter Parker, having two amazing movies this year (Never Let Me Go and The Social Network). How awesome was he on The Social Network?
Carey’s had a really big year. She’s just amazing and a total sweetheart. I saw in the Blink episode of Doctor Who and she is just so great! She’ll be big in the coming years. It also doesn’t hurt that she has a really amazing sense of style.
He is just so classy after all that’s happened, all the whoopla surrounding The Tonight Show. His goodbye speech was amazing and sincere and very, very Conan. I especially loved when he said this: All I ask is one thing, and I’m asking this particularly of young people that watch: Please do not be cynical. I hate cynicism. For the record, it’s my least favorite quality, it doesn’t lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen. I’m telling you, amazing things will happen.
I just love her to bits. Dianna’s just so beautiful and wonderful. Her tumblr is amazing. Her sense of style is wonderful and magical. She totally won me over with her gown at this year’s Golden Globes - so simple yet stunning.
Ellen is just plain awesome. There’s no other way to put it. She’s very cool and different. I’m glad she wasn’t typecast after playing Juno. She still continues to amaze me by picking different roles and not going 100% mainstream.
Okay, I was generally skeptical about Emma playing Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Man reboot but after seeing pictures of her new hair, I got to say, she’s just fierce. I love her charm and how she delivers her lines, odd as that may sound. She’s been amazing to watch in movies.
I first saw him in *hangs head in shame* Georgia Rule, to be fair the movie did not entirely, completely suck. 2010, though, is a pretty good year for Garrett. He’s the lead in a big budget movie, Tron: Legacy, and co-stars with Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw in Country Strong out soon (which I kinda really want to watch) where we get to hear his dreamy singing voice as evidenced
Joe can probably write an idiot’s/how-to guide for child actors who want to build/maintain their careers until adulthood without actually crashing and burning. He went to school, did some indie movies and now is probably much more mainstream thanks to G.I. Joe and Inception.
I feel in love with this series after watching the first two only this month. I love the dynamic between the three leads and the mysteries each character has and how they try to be normal. Also, since the big baddie from series one is back, the series three should be amazing.
Still such a cool, fun show. I love how each episode is so fast paced and cool and still as awesome as the first season. And they have some amazing guest stars.
What can I say? This show is awesome personified. It’s funny and cool and amazing all rolled into a twenty minute weekly show. How is this not nominated for an Emmy or a Golden Globe? Recognize the awesomeness, powers that be.
I’ll say it. I can’t stand Beeeeell and his need for self pity but other than him, I actually really, really loved this season. I’m warming up to Eric, They made Pam a series regular (yay!), Lafayette is still fierce, Alcide and Russell was just so psychotic, he was actually awesome.
please also excuse the use of two types of fonts. lj and I don't get along right now.
please don’t repost on tumblr or anywhere else. I can post them to my tumblr if anyone asks :)
